Privacy Policy

Florida Homeschool Toolkit is operated by [ENTITY NAME — e.g., Florida Homeschool Toolkit LLC], Florida, USA ("we," "us"). Last updated: [DATE]. Questions: hello@floridahomeschooltoolkit.com.

Homeschool records are family records. This policy explains — in plain language — what we collect, where it lives, who can see it, and the control you keep. The short version: your records belong to you, we don't sell data, there are no ads, and you can export or delete everything at any time.

1. What we collect

2. Children's information

The Toolkit is a tool for parents and guardians. Accounts may only be created by adults (18+). Information about children — names, birthdates, schoolwork — is entered by you, the parent or guardian, as part of your family's educational records, and is used solely to provide the service to you. Children are not users of the service, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

3. Where your data is stored

Your records are stored in a Postgres database operated by Supabase on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the United States, encrypted at rest and in transit. Your login session is kept in your own browser. Backups you download live wherever you save them and are entirely in your custody. Our website host (Vercel) serves the application code; your records do not pass through or rest on Vercel's servers.

4. Who can access your records

We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not share your records with school districts, scholarship organizations, or anyone else — sharing your records (for example, with an evaluator) is always an action you take yourself, using your own exports.

5. How we use your information

To operate the Toolkit; to respond when you ask for help; to send you service messages (such as a password reset, or notice of important changes to the service or this policy); and to understand, in aggregate, how the product is used so we can improve it. If we ever introduce optional product-news emails, they will be opt-in with a working unsubscribe.

6. Your control

7. Retention

We keep your records for as long as your account exists. Note that Florida law requires you to retain home education records for two years — plan your exports before deleting an account.

8. Security

Encryption in transit and at rest, database-level access rules, hashed passwords, and two-factor authentication on our administrative accounts. No internet service can promise perfect security; if a breach affecting your data ever occurs, we will notify you promptly at your account email and comply with applicable breach-notification laws, including Florida's.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email and/or a notice in the app before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
